Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Ryan Harden, the founder of The Harden Garden. My love for plants started in my early 20s—though, to be honest, nothing grew at first. I had no clue what I was doing. It was just a fun experiment.
Later, I found myself stuck at a desk for 12-hour shifts in an office job, staring at an empty, boring workspace. That’s when I brought in a little dome grow kit and started growing random plants and flowers. Each morning, I’d come in excited to check for new leaves. That simple joy hooked me.
Fast forward to 2020 —I decided to turn my passion into something real. I launched The Harden Garden on Etsy, selling air plants and displays. What started as a side project quickly grew into something bigger as more people connected with the idea of bringing plants into their spaces.
From Office Desks to Thriving Gardens
One of my earliest successes was selling succulents in little ceramic pots at my office, with proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I made dozens, and within minutes of sending out an email to my coworkers, they were gone. That moment showed me how plants could connect people, brighten spaces, and do good all at once.

Today, The Harden Garden has grown far beyond air plants. We now offer live plants, air plants, pots, accessories, seedlings, and more—but this is just the beginning. Our mission is to make plant ownership easy and accessible, whether you're just starting out or building an indoor jungle.
