Unlike herbs that transplant easily, it  can be a bit tricky to germinate. Patience and preparation are key.

  1. Seed Soaking: Always soak parsley seeds in hot water for 24 to 36 hours before sowing. This softens the seed coat and speeds up germination.
  2. Timing: Sow seeds directly into garden soil three to four weeks before the last frost, or sow them outdoors directly into the ground in mid spring once the soil is workable.
  3. Depth & Spacing: Sow seeds ¼ inch deep, spaced 8–10 inches apart in rows.

From my experience, soaking seeds overnight made all the difference. My first attempt without soaking led to patchy germination, but soaking produced a full, lush row of parsley.
